How to get involved

Welcome to Have your say

Here at Transport for London (TfL), we want to connect people to the things that matter to them – jobs, education, family and loved ones. We are the integrated transport authority responsible for meeting the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and its commitments on transport in London. We run the day-to-day operation of the Capital's public transport network and manage London's main roads.

We want to help London thrive, but we need to hear your voice so we can plan, build and manage transport in London together.

We’ve launched our new digital engagement platform to make it easier for you to have your say.

What is Have your say?

Have your say is your online engagement and consultation platform. It’s your space to share your ideas on our plans and proposals.

Three types of conversation

There will be three different types of conversation that we’ll use to tell you about different projects and policies.

Discuss - early discussion to help us develop better solutions. Like asking your thoughts on how we should address an issue, such as how to improve cycling safety in an area.

Consult - we will consult you on the projects and proposals we have developed. The feedback from your consultation responses will be published in a report along with our responses to the issues you have raised. This will be reviewed by our decision makers to make sure your views are taken into account.

Inform - we will use the platform to inform you about major updates too. When we do this, there will always be an opportunity to ask us questions and share your thoughts.

Every time you use Have your say, we’ll let you know what type of conversation we’re having. This will be shown on the right-hand side of each specific page, using the above icons.

How to register

Simply select the register button on the home page. You’ll need to add some contact information to join.

How to participate

Select a topic or project you are interested in and you’re off! Every topic or project is marked with which type of conversation it is.

Just like on most internet forums or comment pages, any comment you post through Have your say is available for other people to read. The exception is when you complete a survey, where your responses to a survey questionnaire will be logged and reviewed by TfL and not published live on the website.

If you’d like to communicate with us directly, or want more information on anything you’ve read here, please get in touch with us at Haveyoursay@tfl.gov.uk

So, welcome aboard. This is your platform. Your place to share. You talk, we listen. Now it’s over to you…

  • analyse and interpret your feedback to help meet our objectives and obligations, such as making sure our Have your say activity reaches all sections of the community
  • understand possible differences in views between sections of the community (for example to consider if the level of support for a scheme varies between age groups) and
